Susan Stiffelman, MFTSusan Stiffelman is most well known as the expert “Parent Coach” for AOL/ Huffington Post’s parenting channel. Her mission is to help parents raise kids who are joyful, resilient and authentically themselves–without power struggles, negotiations, meltdowns and the various other thieves of joy that can interfere with the ability toenjoy the journey of parenthood.

Ms. Stiffelman is the author of Parenting Without Power Struggles: Raising Joyful, Resilient Kids While Staying Cool, Calm and Connected, to be released in March, 2012 by Atria Books, a division of Simon and Schuster. Reviewers have described the book as “brilliant”, “essential”, and “this generation’s Dr. Spock.” Her book has been endorsed by notable authors including; Harville Hendrix, John Gray, Michael Beckwith, Kurt Andersen, and Laurie David. Ms. Stiffelman is a licensed Marriage, Family and Child therapist, a K-9 credentialed teacher, an educational therapist and a sought after parenting coach. Her approach focuses on helping parents manage their reactions regardless of how their kids are behaving– so they can position themselves as the calm, confident “Captain of the ship” children cooperate with, confide in, are comforted by, and genuinely respect.
